Morito’s Seafood Festival

What Morito’s Seafood Festival Where Morito is a tapas & mezze bar next door to sister restaurant Moro on Exmouth Market. Since opening in August 2010, Morito has received rave reviews for its Spanish/Moorish tapas & mezze. The experience Moro’s younger sister Morito does not disappoint. From the moment you arrive at Exmouth Market, you forget that it is a cold Tuesday October night and feel more like you’re on a quaint street in Barcelona due to the busy and bustling atmosphere of people chatting, eating and enjoying the start of the week. Yesterday afternoon, I was doing some pre dinner research and I must admit that normally I trust google to be law, but truly the vibrant atmosphere is not conveyed in their images. Morito is busy, lively and incredibly welcoming. Every seat was full and the lovely staff were taking mobile numbers and suggesting nearby bars to diners who were happy to wait for a seat. This was a sure sign that we were in for a treat with the food! I met …

Take the opportunity this week to sample it for yourselves with special cocktails menus, Père Magloire Calvados range tasting, food pairing and specially prepared menus cooking with Calvados taking place all over the city. Make mine a large avec de le glace, and show me the cheese board!

Tequila & Mezcal Fest

Where Spitalfields Market What Tequila & Mezcal Fest Experience Salt first, then tequila, then lime. Then grimace. This is how I usually drink tequila, and I’ve been drinking it like this for so long that I thought it was the only way of doing it. I was wrong, of course. Proper tequila – which is not drunk from a plastic shot glass – is smooth, citrus, and delicious. It comes in different vintages, and the longer it has been aged for the more sippable it becomes. Because you sip proper tequila, you see, you don’t shot it. And forget about the salt and the lime – tequila made from 100% agave and oak-aged for more than a year has a flavour that stands on its own. The best place to try it? The UK only has one festival dedicated exclusively to showcasing the best things you can make from agave, and it’s coming to Old Spitalfields Market this weekend. Tequila & Mezcal fest wants to teach you how to drink and enjoy Mexico’s greatest export. There will be …
