Moving into my first rented flat with a friend in my second year of university was incredibly exciting. No more student halls, no more shared kitchens, no more noise keeping me up all night, no more mess (well, almost). I can positively say that I was a bad cook at this time in my life. My specialties, as most students can claim, were spaghetti bolognese and a steak sandwich. Or the odd jacket potato with cottage cheese, baked beans and salad. Oh dear. Luckily my friend was a good cook and every so often she would make the most amazing Thai chicken curry. I would beg her to make it for us and most of the time she caved in. I remember she used to use squeezy tubes of garlic, lemongrass and ginger. It was so easy and utterly delicious.
It wasn’t until recently that I was reintroduced to those very handy squeezy tubes. Gourmet Garden produces a wide range of herbs and spices that are simply washed, chopped and put into tubes. The amount of times I have bought fresh herbs, used a handful and had to throw the rest away when they start to go black is countless. So I was happy to take receipt of a few tubes last week.
I’m offering Food For Think readers the chance to win one of 5 Gourmet Garden prizes – the whole Gourmet Garden range along with a brand new Gourmet Garden cookery book.

Hahaha! YES – I am talking about Annabels Thai curry. So funny that you can remember that! I never did get the recipe but I think I’m going to bribe her for it!
These look really good, perfect for when you have no fresh herbs in the the garden or just need a tiny amount. Please enter me into the competition because I would love to win to give them a try.

I would love to win these because my other half has just taken up cooking and These would inspire him to create more tasty dishes. I wouldn’t then have to smile politely and try to lie convincingly about his some of his rather bland creations.Bless him… he is trying!

Aah, these sound good. I’ve come across a similar idea once, but not well implemented, these sound much better, would love to try them!

I liked your FB page (already). x
My daughter was tutting so much after looking in the salad compartment of my fridge that I was shamed into throwing away de-composing coriander and red chilies. I
It really would be so nice to have those lovely squeezy Gourmet Garden tubes looking sparkly clean in my fridge!
I have had the same problem many times – I always feel so bad throwing mounds of herbs in the bin!
I love experimenting with recipes and the Gourmet Garden Range of Herbs and Spice sounds tasty.
Because they seem a great idea and I would like to try them
