London Grind, London Bridge

Where London Grind, London Bridge What London Grind is the latest venue from the team behind the successful Shoreditch, Soho and Holborn Grind. It sits proudly riverside at 2 London Bridge on the doorstep of Borough Market. Inside, the bare bricks provide an understated decor which is effortlessly chic. Experience London Grind of course offers its name sake high-quality coffee but focus turns to their signature cocktail list and locally-sourced dishes to feed hungry brunch seekers and dinner diners alike. I knew my luck was in when my friend and I were seated at a table with a river view. We were instantly recommended the gin cocktail Clover Club and didn’t need our arms twisting. It was sweet and fresh and packed a raspberry punch. For those with a more savoury pallet try a Negroni or locally brewed beer from Fourpure brewery. Laid out on view were a selection of focaccia, cheese and meat sourced from Borough Market every morning. My friend and I opted to share plates and both loved the devine Mushroom and …

Bourbon Masterclass with Buffalo Trace, TwoRuba

Where TwoRuba Bar & Lounge, Hilton London Tower Bridge What Tworuba is a plush bar and restaurant located on the ground floor of the Hilton Tower Bridge Hotel, serving a range of cocktails and creative small plates. From March, the bar will be hosting monthly whiskey tasting master classes in partnership with Kentucky distillery, Buffalo Trace. We were invited to a preview evening in lieu of the launch. Experience I headed straight from work to Tooley street and found my friend Dan, not waiting outside the Hilton Hotel as arranged, but downing an ale in the old man boozer over the road. We trotted over to The Hilton and were greeted at reception by a nice lady who showed us through to TwoRuba. The masterclasses are held in a private room just off the main bar that is decadent, cosy and more importantly, had glasses of bourbon everywhere! Dan looked confused and disappointed – he clearly thought that I was taking him biscuit tasting – but he soon cheered up when we were handed a …

ROSA’S Thai Cafe – Angel

Where Rosa’s, Angel What Drinks and Thai canapes at the Opening of Rosa’s Angel The Experience As a serious Thai food lover, I was ecstatic to be invited to the launch party of the first North London offering from Rosa’s, one of London’s most loved Thai restaurants. Starting it’s life as a market stall on Brick Lane by husband and wife duo Alex and Saiphin Moore, the family run restaurant group has fast expanded with Rosa’s Angel being the sixth location to launch shortly after opening the fifth in Chelsea. If you have not yet eaten at Rosa’s then you really must, as like the others, Rosa’s Angel offers authentic home-cooked Thai cuisine with a flavoursome modern twist. My many personal favourites include the char grilled sirloin beef on spicy Thai salad with mint and chilli dressing; the Northern Thai sausage served with ginger and fresh coriander; pork skewers, which are marinated with honey, soy and oyster sauce and served with a fresh Thai dipping sauce; and last but not least the  prawn and squid …

The Landmark London

Where The Landmark London What Dine Around – Food and Drink experience at The Landmark London Experience If you haven’t been lucky enough yet to visit The Landmark London then make this a priority as it’s absolutely breathtaking and an experience not to miss. Mirror Bar – Cocktails and Canapes A few weeks ago I went for dinner and drinks at The Landmark London. My evening started off with pre drinks and canapes in the Mirror Bar.  I decided to be brave and try the Pickled Onion Vodka Martini, a combination of Babicka Vodka, Vya Dry Vermouth, dashes of lemon bitters and a pickled onion. I would be lying if I didn’t say I was a little apprehensive; I love onions especially picked onion, but in a cocktail – I wasn’t so sure. I was very pleasantly surprised though, as it was deliciously different and impressively presented. Being brave certainly paid off and I’m now eager to return and try the mushroom & truffle martini. The canapes that accompanied the cocktails were just as tasty and …
