Morito’s Seafood Festival

What Morito’s Seafood Festival Where Morito is a tapas & mezze bar next door to sister restaurant Moro on Exmouth Market. Since opening in August 2010, Morito has received rave reviews for its Spanish/Moorish tapas & mezze. The experience Moro’s younger sister Morito does not disappoint. From the moment you arrive at Exmouth Market, you forget that it is a cold Tuesday October night and feel more like you’re on a quaint street in Barcelona due to the busy and bustling atmosphere of people chatting, eating and enjoying the start of the week. Yesterday afternoon, I was doing some pre dinner research and I must admit that normally I trust google to be law, but truly the vibrant atmosphere is not conveyed in their images. Morito is busy, lively and incredibly welcoming. Every seat was full and the lovely staff were taking mobile numbers and suggesting nearby bars to diners who were happy to wait for a seat. This was a sure sign that we were in for a treat with the food! I met …

No.11 Pimlico Road: Cocktail Making Masterclass with Elvis

What No. 11 Pimlico Road is a totally independent neighbourhood bar and restaurant with a cool and contemporary interior, proving the perfect atmosphere (all with added in-house DJs) for drinking, eating and unwinding. No. 11 is twinned with No.32 the Old Town, Clapham, which is not only my local but my favourite haunt south of the river- all adding to the excitement of tonight. Where No. 11 Pimlico Road, SW1W 8NA http://no11pimlicoroad.co.uk/ The Experience On a drizzly and dark (how is it only October?!) evening, I have to say that it would take only a very special occasion to persuade me to shift from the sofa with a cup of tea to a cocktail bar. But having received the beautiful invitation for a Cocktail Making Masterclass with No. 11 Pimlico Road’s one and only expert barista Elvis, I knew immediately that we were in for something special. After a warm welcome and introductions with the fabulous Melanie Marriott (Managing Director of the Darwin & Wallace Group), we were invited upstairs to the beautiful event space …

Negroni Trolley at Cartizze

What The new Negroni Trolley at Cartizze brings the drink of summer to your table. Experience Nestled along a cobbled back street in the heart of Mayfair lies Italian-influenced cocktail and Bellini bar, Cartizze. I was invited along to try Cartizze’s newest addition, an antique Empire-style drinks trolley where a variety of Negroni twists are mixed to order. The Negroni is rumoured to have originated in Florence back in 1920 when Count Camillo Negroni asked for his Americano cocktail with a kick. Gin was added, and the Negroni was born. The Negroni is the cocktail of the moment – strong, complex and refreshing. The Cartizze Negroni contains Portobello Gin, Antica Formula, Campari, Aperol and Martini Rosso. This twist on the quintessential Italian aperitif delicately balances bittersweet, sharp and herbal flavours. I found it far too drinkable. It was sipped in minutes. For those seeking a sweeter flavour the waiter will suggest the Grapoi Negroni, which is sweetened with Cointreau and clarified grapefruit juice. The most tempting drink on Cartizze’s Negroni menu, and not just because …
