He only went and did it! As soon as Nadal and Federer crashed out in the first and second rounds, whispers started to circulate that this might actually be the year for Murray to break the barrier and become the first British man to win Wimbledon since Fred Perry, 77 years ago. And yesterday he did just that – CONGRATULATIONS MURRAY! I was at Wimbledon on what was dubbed as Wipeout Wednesday by the press and I was on Centre Court to watch Federer crash out to Stakhovsky. I secretly wanted Federer to win but was glad that I got to witness such a fantastic match and a sterling performance from a player that I had never even heard of before. Roger, what happened?!? It was bad enough that my favourite player of all time crashed out of Wimbledon in the first round (Nadal, I’m looking at you, dear), but I was literally gobsmacked when, a couple of days later, the King of Wimbledon followed suit.
