I was a very happy girl on Thursday. Lavazza, one of my favourite coffee brands, asked me to take part in the best blogger competition known to man – Lavazza 2013 Wimbledon Blogger Challenge, otherwise known as #NewTradition. This year, Lavazza is celebrating it’s 3rd anniversary as the ‘Official Coffee of Wimbledon’ and has asked 15 bloggers to compete in a challenge with three finalists winning tickets to report live from Wimbledon with one finalist winning a trip to Turin, the home of Lavazza.
This excited me for three reasons:
1) I am a MASSIVE coffee nut and spend a lot of time scouring the best cups of coffee in London.
2) I am now the proud owner of a Limited Edition Lavazza A Modo Mio machine (isn’t it BEAUTIFUL!)
3) There is a possibility that I can attend a round table discussion with Giuseppe Lavazza and Lavazza’s Brand Ambassador, as well as watching a couple of matches at Wimbledon.
I look forward to Wimbledon all year round. I inherited an intense love of the competition from my mum who used to run around the house whooping and hollering for the whole duration of the tournament. Even one of my cats loved it so much that she gave birth behind the sofa during an Agassi match. None of us even knew she was pregnant, we just thought she was a bit fat – so that year was doubly exciting. One thing I’ll never forgive my parents for it not buying me tennis lessons. My brother had plenty and was pretty good but me, nope, not allowed. I guess I did everything else under the sun, though. All I wish is that I could master my serve.
So now you know what Wimbledon means to me. What does Lavazza mean to me? Well, I’ll always pick up the black pack of Lavazza Espresso when I buy coffee from the supermarket. Not only does the packaging look sleek (and the fact that it is vacuum packed provides much entertainment in our household), it really feels like you are making a cup of Italian history every time. And now I have this small but perfectly formed A Modo Mio machine, I can make my own cup of premium and authentic Italian coffee at the flick of a button. I spend a good proportion of my monthly income on coffee and this will put an end to that as I now have a quick, easy, cheap, not to mention delicious, option.
The challenge commences now and I’m so excited to be a part of this competition. Over the next couple of weeks expect to see lots of #NewTradition content from me. Don’t forget to follow me on the following platforms to see how I am getting along:
