A few months ago I told you about my friend’s cafe, the Hackney Bureau on Mare Street. Well now it’s time to tell you about her newest venture, Hackney Advisory, also on Mare Street next door to the infamous Dolphin pub.
Hackney Advisory is a burger restaurant at heart but also serves dishes such as incredible (and rather spicy) chicken wings, their own version of the classic Canadian poutine and a few other tempting dishes. They are also open for brunch and serve a range of classic brunch options, including poached eggs and avocado on toast, pancakes with blueberries and maple syrup and peanut butter and jelly toasted muffin.
I visited not one but three times within the space of a few days and I opted for the cheeseburger twice and a portion of poutine the other time. The burger is served just how I like it – medium rare on a brioche bun with a perfect amount of salad and fries. I had never tried poutine before but I’m already thinking about making it at home. Delicious thick cut chips with a lamb gravy and goats curd.
There is also a great range of thirst quenching drinks, including my favourite beer, Tsingtao, and locally brewed Crate.
I don’t live remotely near Hackney but it’s definitely worth the trip and one no doubt that I’ll be making quite regularly.
