I love December. It’s almost Christmas and this time of year tends to get really fun with loads of events to keep the festive spirits high.
Since I moved to Hackney, there have been a few interesting restaurant and pop ups. Skylodge is the newest one, situated at The Hothouse in London Fields.
Skylodge offers winter warming cocktails and delicious food and is presented by Platterform.
As I walked up the stairs, I wasn’t expecting such an incredible venue – an expansive lodge like structure overlooking the treetops of London Fields.
We were sat at a heated booth and enjoyed a range of amazing small plates (Lumbersnacks as they are known at Skylodge), including Wolf Waffles with Mamma’s Pulled Pork, Mountain Cheese & Wild Mushroom Brioche and the signature Skylodge Sloppy Joes. We also thoroughly enjoyed ‘Hands-On-Gretel’ hot spiced cider and a few red wines.
For those wanting a bit of winter fun over the next couple of months, head to Skylodge and you won’t be disappointed.
A three course set dinner option plus welcome cocktail is available priced at £20 per person.
Skylodge is open Thursdays and Fridays 6pm until 11pm; weekends 12 noon until 11pm
