Hip Hop Brunch – Drake Style

I’m too old for clubbing – in the traditional sense anyway. I’m not exactly ancient, but going to bed post 2am after having drank my bodyweight in alcohol has started to take its toll in recent years. I know I sound like a nana, but I have long been saying I’d much rather start early and end early. Daytime fun is massively underrated, especially in a city that never sleeps. So when I was invited to pop down and try a Drake inspired bottomless brunch by the Hip Hop Brunch crew, I had to try it. Not only were we going to be spending a few hours in a dark air conditioned pub on one of the hottest days of the year (I’m probably the only person in London rejoicing at this), we were also going to be feasting on three courses and bottomless booze, all while listening to the best of Drake.

If you haven’t heard of Hip Hop Brunch before, it is an award winning brunch event, which takes place in a secret London location. The price of the ticket includes three courses, bottomless cocktails between Midday and 1pm, and a range of entertainment from hip hop karaoke, to themed games and entertainment from magicians, temporary tattoo artists and award winning DJs.

So, what did we think to the Drake themed Hip Hop Brunch special? In short, we loved it. The crew were amazing – attentive, professional and above all, fun. They really know how to get the party started with their high octane energy levels and impressive talent. Watching a couple of the hosts pick up the mic was one of the highlights of the day.

And the best bit? Every single person in there was into it. Massively. Groups of friends only sat down to eat and spent the rest of their time opting to play fun Drake themed games on stage and dancing around the tables, arm in arm, massive smiles on their faces.

The food? To be honest, I never expected it to be amazing. And it wasn’t. But that wasn’t what we were there for. We were there to eat and drink, of course, but mostly we were there to have a fun party during the day, so we could sleep like babies in the evening and wake up fresh the next day.

So did Hip Hop Brunch live up to our expectations? Yes, and more. I’d highly recommend grabbing a group of friends and heading down to one of their events soon. Just make sure you take your dancing shoes and empty stomachs.

Tickets: £40 – early bird / £45 – general / £50 – last minute
