Nikon 1 J3 Review – Venice and Melbourne

I arrived back from Melbourne on Saturday morning at 7am. I dropped my bag off at home, had a quick shower and headed out to meet my friend for breakfast. As I was munching on my bircher muesli, she asked if I fancied going on a day trip and proceeded to say that Brighton was £10 return on the train. Woah woah woah, I thought. I felt good but not THAT good and I knew that jet lag would catch up on me soon enough. So we settled on Greenwich. We had an amazing day but as soon as the darkness set in, sure enough, I was on my way to sleepy town. I was asleep by 8pm and awake on Sunday morning at 5am. Gotta love jet lag. It’s not too annoying though as it has given me time to root through all of my pictures from Australia. Speaking of pictures, this post is the review the Nikon 1 J3. I borrowed this beauty of a camera from Nikon for my trips to Venice …

Quick and Easy Dinner? Belazu has the Answer

I wish there were more hours in the day. I really do. I find that there isn’t time to do everything I want to do in life. I like cooking but I also like eating out and playing sport during the week. But I can’t do it all. Or can I? I really don’t think quick, easy and cheap meals have to come in ready meal format. There are loads of solutions that are healthy, will tickle those tastebuds and be kind on your pocket. I play netball on Mondays and Wednesdays and find it really hard to find the time to cook on those evenings. So I was really pleased to see that Belazu has just launched sauce jars, which heated up are perfect poured over cous cous. I made this a couple of evenings before netball. I tried the Tomato and Smoked Paprika and the Red Pepper and Rose Harissa sauces and it took literally 10 minutes to prepare. I served with a fresh side salad and it was the perfect dinner – …

Phillips Viva Juicer from Argos

Every once in a while I go through a healthy phase. One too many burgers or pizzas usually pushes me over the edge and I spend the next few weeks being a good girl by going to the gym and eating healthily. I was pretty good over the summer, then I took my first bite of a burger at The Advisory, my friend’s burger restaurant, which happens to be a 2 minute walk away from my house, and I was hooked. So I would say it was good timing when Argos got in touch to ask if I would like to try one of the juicers from their range. I went through a juice phase a couple of years ago but stopped when I spilled my creation all over the kitchen floor one morning before work. The machine I had at the time wasn’t the easiest to use so I gave up as it was too much hassle before a hard day at work. This time, however, was different. Argos has a wide range of …

Cinnamon American Pancakes Recipe

I do love a good weekend brunch. And there’s nothing that makes me happier than waking up on a Saturday morning and whipping up a batch of fluffy American pancakes. This weekend was no different. I had planned breakfast a few days in advance and knew I was going to make cinnamon pancakes with maple syrup. Pancakes are such a simple and totally decadent way to start your day at the weekend. You probably have most of the ingredients in the cupboard, you just need to put them to good use! Here’s my recipe so you can have a go at making your own pancakes. Ingredients 135g plain flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 2 tbsp golden caster sugar 1 tsp Schwartz ground cinnamon 130ml milk 1 large egg, lightly beaten 2tbsp melted butter, plus extra for cooking Method Sift the flour, baking powder, cinnamon salt and golden caster sugar into a large bowl. In a separate bowl, lightly whisk together the milk and egg, then the melted butter. Pour the milk mixture …

Friday Night Takeaway with JUST EAT

If you are familiar with my blog, Twitter or Instagram profiles, you will know that I eat out a lot – so much so that I’m slightly worried I might be developing a bit of a problem. Over the weekend I visited not one but seven eating establishments. SEVEN! I do have an excuse, though – my mum was in town for a couple of days and her being a fellow foodie and all, there was a lot to show her. As much as I love eating out, it’s nice to stay in once in a while. Usually when I stay in I’ll cook, but a couple of weeks ago I was asked to try takeaway ordering from JUST EAT, the world’s leading online takeaway ordering service, which allows you to order in real-time from your local independent takeaway restaurant. It was a Friday evening when I decided to try JUST EAT. My friend was coming around to view a spare room in my house and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to catch …
