Dr Oetker – As Cold as Ice

Well this is a little bit of fun. Pretty much the only frozen pizza brand that I can trust (that margherita with deicious green pesto!!) recently created a PR stunt unlike any other. A pizzeria made from four tonnes of ice opened, for one day only, outside Liverpool Street station. Crafted from 34 huge blocks of ice and using 3,400 litres of water, the stunt kicked off activity to promote Dr. Oetker Ristorante’s #freshnessfrozen campaign which is also being supported by its £2million marketing campaign consisting of the brand’s first ever money back guarantee on-pack promotion and heavy weight TV advertising. Each block of ice contained the essential ingredients of classic pizzas suspended within its frozen walls, which passers-by could watch in awe as they melted.

The Meat Co. Steakhouse

Where The Meat Co Steakhouse What South African influenced restaurant, The Meat Co, launched in London in 2008. It caters for meat lovers who yearn for a steak house with style. Experience It was a Thursday night and the weekend was fast approaching. I needed to go shopping all week and, as usual, the London hustle got the better of me. The Meat Co is situated ideally on the approach to Westfield Shopping Centre in Sheppard’s Bush. What better place to meet my friend for a steak dinner with an hour to spare to run my errands? I met my friend Kim, bags in hand, at the downstairs bar. The deluxe decor of rich patterned furniture and tribal hangings immediately took me away to somewhere exotic. The restaurant is situated upstairs via a grand staircase, but there is always the option of ordering snacks at the bar if you are just after a post-shopping bite. Our waiter for the evening, Professor, quickly recommended The Jungle Bear cocktail. It did just fine for a sweet toothed …

What Meat Porter Supper Club at London City Island by Ballymore Experience Meat Porter is an online artisan butchers which sources and delivers great quality cuts of free-range British farmed meat to your door. It’s been done before but I have found most of these services expensive and inconvenient, with impractical minimum orders; but the ethos behind Meat Porter is much simpler. Founder Stefan Porter uses the same farmers who supply high quality meat to some of Britain’s best restaurants so that you can have a fine dining experience at home for a price that roughly equates to shopping at Tesco’s Finest or Waitrose. Minimum orders are £25, they deliver to pretty much anywhere in the UK for free and if you order before 3pm you will get it the next day. You can have it delivered to work and the meat keeps cool in the box for up to 30 hours. Sounds easy! Each box comes with some simple recipes based on the premise that the best meat requires only minimal seasoning and the …
