Running in Heels Review: La Clairière, Alsace

This was originally posted on Running in Heels following a press stay at La Clairière in Alsace. Even in the dim evening light, the quaint villages between Strasbourg and eco spa hotel La Clairière are a fairytale feast of delicate gabled roofs and charming crooked cottages. Further on, as you speed  through dark forests, the impression grows stronger until, suddenly, La Clairière looms up out of the foliage like Rapunzel’s tower. I, however, had not come to eat enchanted gingerbread or drink magical wine – or indeed, anything approaching either of those at all. Instead, I was here for a detox programme, one of the many wellness programs offered by the Alsace-based spa hotel. Three days, scores of treatments, four-course detox lunches and dinners and unlimited use of the spa – I was ready to go. The Nutribox

A couple of weeks ago I declared my love for Nakd and Trek bars. The next day an email landed in my inbox from a chap called Peter from a company called The Nutribox asking if I would like to try a Nutribox-mini. The email couldn’t have come at a better time as I had just decided to start a gluten free diet again, following on from the three months last year that I spent gluten free. The Nutribox team are a bunch of foodies and nutritionists based in Sheffield who have set up The Nutribox as an online, healthy snacks business with the mission of making it easier for people to eat more healthily. All snacks included in the box are nutritionally dense, tasty and made from gluten-free ingredients, sourced typically from small artisan producers. My box arrived quickly through the post and I was pleasantly surprised by the wide range of treats neatly lined up next to each other.
