Where Bones, Kingsland Road What A new all-day restaurant from Joff and Simeon Goodman, the guys behind the fabulous organic and fairtrade store, The Grocery. Situated on Kingsland Road, the restaurant showcases dishes both off and on-the-bone, be it falling off, braised, racked, rotisseried, just picked, pulled or plucked. The experience For me, Kingsland Road has been a go to place for many things; whether that be a cocktail at Jaguar Shoes, a dance at Catch, or a delicious hearty Vietnamese meal at one of the many Vietnamese restaurants on the strip. But now, I shall remember it as an awesome place to go whenever I have a meat craving. I visited Bones a few weeks ago and tried what felt like most of the dishes on offer. There are dishes to share and we tried an amazing Tuscan panzanella salad with tomato, roasted red onions, croutons and garlic and roasted aubergine with feta, pomegranate, chilli and tahini dressing. Rooster Booster Superfood Salad, Clockjack Oven

January is the perfect month for dieting. Not that I do it, of course. But I know plenty of people that do. Despite not denying myself anything I want to eat, I have naturally felt like eating a bit healthier after the Christmas gorge. I was intrigued when I heard that Clockjack Oven in Soho has just released a Rooster Booster chicken superfood salad, specially designed by Alyn Williams. I visited Clockjack a few months ago and loved it, so I was excited to go back to try the salad and a couple of other dishes. The Rooster Booster contains a generous helping of the signature rotisserie roasted chicken, blanched broccoli, baby spinach and pumpkin seeds. It is dusted with paprika and served with a light yoghurt and mint dressing. We also enjoyed a chicken burger and the most delicious buttermilk-marinated fried chicken bites. Clockjack Oven, Soho

I bloomin love chicken. A couple of years ago I never thought I’d say this, but, I might even go so far as saying that chicken is my favourite meat and over the last year or so, I have trawled London to eat lots of the stuff. Last week my friend Kim and I visited Clockjack Oven in Soho to feast on chicken. And lots of it. The restaurant’s website states that customers will have ‘The best tasting and most succulent, lovingly prepared rotisserie experience.’ and I have to say, I think I agree. We wanted to try a few bits so shared 4 pieces of chicken, chicken bites, the Clockjack Oven chicken burger, plus a portion of chips and a tomato, red onion and basil salad. The waiter arrived and filled our table with dishes. There was a lot to eat. But we did it. And we enjoyed it all with a range of Clockjack Oven homemade sauces – ranch, chilli and barbeque.
