Ask anyone who has known me since I was a young whipper snapper and they will tell you that I have been a lifelong technology geek, mobile phones in particular. I remember getting my first mobile phone so clearly. It was a Sony Ericsson brick with a clear orange back. I was 13 and it was really really cool. Mobile phones have come a long way since then. Nowadays, a phone isn’t just a phone – it’s your calendar, inbox, mp3 player, camera, you name it, your phone does it. The last phone I upgraded to was the Samsung Galaxy S3 but I still have just under a year to go on my contract so I have been eagerly awaiting an upgrade. But last Thursday I was contacted by the Samsung press office to ask if I wanted to take one of the brand new Samsung S4 Zoom handsets to The Big Feastival on Sunday to take a load of pictures and report back. He only went and did it! As soon as Nadal and Federer crashed out in the first and second rounds, whispers started to circulate that this might actually be the year for Murray to break the barrier and become the first British man to win Wimbledon since Fred Perry, 77 years ago. And yesterday he did just that – CONGRATULATIONS MURRAY! I was at Wimbledon on what was dubbed as Wipeout Wednesday by the press and I was on Centre Court to watch Federer crash out to Stakhovsky. I secretly wanted Federer to win but was glad that I got to witness such a fantastic match and a sterling performance from a player that I had never even heard of before. A couple of days before, I was provided with a Nikon Coolpix S9500 to take with me so that I could get a few snaps of the action. Windows Phone – My Nokia Lumia 920 Windows Phone

A few weeks ago an invite popped into my inbox inviting me to an event to showcase the new Nokia Lumia 920 Windows Phone and I couldn’t believe my luck. A group of bloggers were to meet at the Soho Hotel to collect a handset before being treated to a demonstration by award winning photographer, Laurie Fletcher. We would then be heading to Jason Atherton’s newest venture, Social Eating House, for dinner to test out the camera on the phone and to see how fantastic it performs in low lighting settings. Anyone who knows me really well will know that I am a real technology geek at heart. I get WAY more excited about a new phone or gadget than a new pair of shoes or a handbag, so I was excited at the prospect of being able to play around with the new Nokia Windows Phone first hand.
