My #NewTradition Lavazza #Wimbledon Experience

Roger, what happened?!? It was bad enough that my favourite player of all time crashed out of Wimbledon in the first round (Nadal, I’m looking at you, dear), but I was literally gobsmacked when, a couple of days later, the King of Wimbledon followed suit. But I tell you what, I am glad I was there to see that one. If you weren’t already aware, I am one of the three finalists competing to win a trip to Turin to visit the home of Lavazza, the official coffee of Wimbledon, and I was EXTREMELY lucky to have been invited to Wimbledon on the third day of the tournament to soak up the atmosphere, meet the Lavazza team, drink LOTS of coffee and take in a couple of matches. Have you had a go at winning Lavazza prizes yet? My workmate did and won a £10 itunes voucher recently so you can too! Simply head to wimbledon.lavazza.com to combine Lavazza’s specialties and British style to discover your new tradition and win a Lavazza A Modo Mio …

I’m going to Wimbledon! #NewTradition

I forgot to tell you – I WON A TICKET TO WIMBLEDON. Yes, after two weeks of extreme Lavazza style fun, I was crowned one of the three finalists of the #NewTradition challenge. I couldn’t have been happier when I learned last week that I would be visiting Wimbledon. And tomorrow is the big day. I received my itinerary yesterday and was gobsmacked by the activities in store for me tomorrow. Not only will I be able to meet Guiseppe Lavazza, I will also have time to interview Judy Murray and Toni Nadal (providing he is still around following his nephew’s shock loss yesterday) as well as taking in a match! Let me know if you have any burning questions you would like me to ask Judy, Toni or Giuseppe! Follow me throughout the day as I enjoy my mission to win a trip to Turin, the home of Lavazza. Join me virtually as I scour the 60 Lavazza service points throughout the tournament, attempt to speak to a large number of the 600 lavazza …

#NewTradition #12 – Tramezzino

Tramezzino. It’s a great word isn’t it. But what does it mean? Well, the origin of Tramezzino can be traced back to the Caffè Mulassano di Piazza Castello in Turin where Italians decided that they wanted to have a go at their own version of British Afternoon Tea. But instead of opting for our (sometimes tasteless) cucumber sandwiches, they decided to use quality Italian ingredients. I made these for my Lavazza Afternoon Coffee Party because I’m half way through my Lavazza #NewTradition challenege and I wanted to mix it up a bit by making something authentic to Turin, the home of Lavazza and it’s family run roastery. I have to say I had never heard of Tramezzino before this Lavazza NewTradition challenge but I’m so glad I found them! The concept is the same – the crusts are removed but the bread is stuffed with Italian fillings. We used parma ham, parmesan, asparagus, egg and tuna, to name a few, but I imagine there are many more variations. These sandwiches are perfect for picnics and …

#NewTradition #11 – Gluten Free Lavazza Espresso Chocolate Brownies

Ok, I know. The other day I admitted to you that I gave up my gluten free diet for my strawberries and cream cake at the weekend. I hadn’t planned to, honestly. And I can prove it to you; because I also baked some gluten free Lavazza Espresso Chocolate Brownies. Gluten free living isn’t hard at all, especially when you know what you are looking to avoid. There are so many other options out there, just as delicious, believe it or not. I recently posted about Andy Murray’s gluten free diet helping his performance on court, citing that mine had also improved since giving it up. These Lavazza espresso brownies are really delicious. My boss even declared that it could possibly be the best chocolate brownie he has ever tasted. The flour is replaced with ground almonds, which is one of my favourite baking ingredients. Almonds are also a great pairing for coffee so this combination worked really well. I took them out of the oven slightly earlier as I love a gooey brownie but …
